Celebrating Volunteers Week

Celebrating Volunteers’ Week 2018

Volunteer Week 2018 runs from the 1st to the 7th of June and to celebrate we are holding a volunteer breakfast at Palacio Lounge in Falmouth. We want to say thank you and show our appreciation for all the hard work and support our volunteers give to us and the people they help. Volunteers should be recognized for their on-going contributions and we want to emphasize how important they are to us. At Carrick Mind our volunteers increase the quality of services that we provide and help build relationships with the local community.

We currently have 35 volunteers and our volunteers gave us almost 1000 hours of their time in 2017. Our volunteers are a diverse mix of ages and backgrounds and they bring a range of qualities, skills and expertise that you may not always get from staff.

Some of the roles we offer are helping run our wellbeing groups, being mentors for people volunteering but needing support, fundraising and helping at events and office based roles. We offer training, supervision and pay expenses, we want to invest in our volunteers and make sure they feel part of the team. Providing volunteering opportunities helps with social inclusion, skills development and potential routes to employment. There is also evidence that volunteering can help to improve health and wellbeing for individuals

If you are interested in volunteering for us please email us at [email protected] and we can email an application form to you.
