Charity football match raises over £1000.00!

A huge thanks to Mr Templeton and the Year 9 and Year 10 boys of Newquay Tretherras for hosting a sponsored football match to raise awareness and funds for Cornwall Mind.

Mr Templeton said, “I am so proud of all the hard work the boys have put into raising money for Cornwall Mind. They have been persistent in asking teachers, friends and family to help in order to raise as much as they possibly could. They chose Cornwall Mind as their charity because they believe it is essential that more is done to combat the mental health of those around us. They’ve also put on activities such as ‘beat the teacher’ penalty shootouts in order to raise money from their peers.”

To date the boys have raised over £1,000 and you can still donate via the following page:

Jo Boulton, Project Co-ordinator for Cornwall Mind in the West said; “We are absolutely delighted, it’s such an incredible amount of money raised! It’s great to have young people supporting mental health awareness as it helps tackle stigma and starts important conversations about mental wellbeing.  All money raised or donated to us stays in Cornwall and gets spent in our local communities. Thank you so much to everyone involved.”
