The Bodmin garden group host a Garden Party!

The Bodmin garden group held its annual Garden Party last Saturday on the 21st of August.

The flowers and plants looked beautiful, everyone had worked so hard. The Bodmin music group played brilliantly together and entertained everyone, and there were some very tasty treats to eat.

The weather wasn’t kind but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits.

Our garden groups and projects provide opportunity to learn how to plant, nurture and harvest plants, fruit and vegetables, creating a real sense of achievement, boosting confidence and self-esteem. Being outside in natural light can also be helpful if you experience seasonal affective disorder (SAD), a type of depression that affects people during particular seasons or times of year. There is always plenty to do and lots of time for tea breaks and chats. The groups also provide social contact, opportunities for friendship, and access to peer and professional support.
