Joining a walking group is a great way to improve fitness, connect with others and form new friendships. The social support can help you remain motivated too.
Research shows there’s more health benefits when we walk with others. Regular walking is good for our mental health, it can help to reduce stress levels, improve sleep and lower the risk of depression.
We offer free walking sessions, varying the routes around the local Wadebridge area.
Each walk lasts approximately two hours.
We also stop for a rest at a cafe to enjoy a little social group time.
What do I need? A pair of shoes suitable for walking, a water bottle, and a willingness to improve fitness and ultimately feel good about yourself.
The group also provides social contact, opportunities for friendship, and access to peer and professional support.
When? Wednesdays 10am – 12 noon fortnightly.
How do I sign up?
The walking group is really helping me build a routine in my week, which is so important to me, having autism. I feel very comfortable with everyone too, as you are all so friendly.
