Spring 2019 heralds the beginning of a new era for the two local Minds in Cornwall.
As many of you may be aware, we are in the process of merging with our lovely neighbours at Restormel Mind in Bodmin to create a new organisation, this will be known as Cornwall Mind.
Very small charities struggle for funding, security and the ability to adapt to growing demands. The larger grants and funding applications we apply for are usually offered on a countywide basis. As Cornwall Mind we will be better placed to secure funding, develop our services and become the voice of people with mental health issues across Cornwall.
Our ‘mission statement’ for the new Cornwall Mind is: “We provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of mental health.”
Creating Cornwall Mind brings with it lots of work and we are in the process of developing our new website. Keep an eye on our Facebook page to keep up to date with all news – @carrickmind, this will also change name soon.
