Jim’s Swim for Cornwall Mind
Make a splash for Cornwall Mind at this summer’s fresh water swimming challenge!
Brave the chilly waters at Adrenalin Quarry’s 22m deep 300m long lake and enjoy a ‘swim-sational’ morning full of fun and wellbeing.
Join Jim for his fourth annual ‘Jim’s Swim’ on Saturday, 28th June, at the amazing Adrenalin Quarry in Menheniot and embrace the benefits of cold water swimming and being outdoors, all whilst raising vital funds for Cornwall Mind.
This annual event was set up four years ago by Jim Candy, who found that swimming outdoors greatly helped his recovery from depression. He wanted to share this with others who may also benefit from the same therapeutic effects.
Spaces are limited and all participants must be able to swim 1000m in open water without stopping or support. There will be a full health and safety briefing on arrival and a lifeguarded boat will be on the lake throughout. All swimmers will need to complete a waiver by clicking on the link here: https://bookings.adrenalinquarry.co.uk/waiver/?orderref=AQ452273
Whilst there is no entry fee, participants are being asked to consider a voluntary donation of £5 or £10 and to set up a sponsorship page. Adrenalin Quarry is kindly sponsoring Jim’s Swim and is also gifting a complimentary zip wire to anyone who raises a minimum of £100.
We want to extend our huge thanks to Jim for choosing to support Cornwall Mind and our fight for better mental health across the county.
So…take the plunge and set up your justgiving page here. Or download a sponsor form – Cornwall Mind sponsorship form.
