Meet our London Marathon Runners for 2026
We are thrilled to introduce Gemma and Harry, our incredible champions who will be running the London Marathon next year in support of Cornwall Mind! They both have heartfelt and inspiring stories about their personal experiences of mental health, and they are taking a stand to promote better mental health for everyone through their amazing efforts.
As they prepare for the Marathon, Gemma and Harry are not just training hard but also raising vital funds to support the work of Cornwall Mind. With each mile they run, they are challenging themselves and helping to break down the stigma surrounding mental health.
We’d love you to join us in supporting them! You can help by making a donation, sharing their story, or simply spreading the word about why mental health awareness is so important. Let’s cheer them on together!
Gemma is running the Marathon in loving memory of her mum, who she sadly lost in March this year.
Because mental illness doesn’t just affect the person struggling – it affects everyone who loves them. My story is a painful one, but I’m sharing it because I don’t want others to suffer in silence like we did. I want people to know that support exists, and that there is help… No one should ever feel as alone as we did. Losing your mum is devastating in any circumstance – but losing her like this is a pain I can’t put into words. It’s a weight I carry every single day.
Harry is running the Marathon after experiencing intense mental health struggles, which led him to discover the benefits of running.
I was lost, overwhelmed, and heading down a dangerous path… And somewhere along the way, I rediscovered running. Running became more than exercise. It became therapy. It became my lifeline. It helped me grow, find clarity, and mature as a man. I’d use it to process feelings, relieve stress and get out of my own negative thinking loops – something I still turn to when I need to… Now, I want to use it to help others too.
