About Dip in the DarkDip in the Dark pin badge design

In partnership with Salty Swims CIC, and kindly sponsored by Cornish Sea Salt, we’re bringing people together for a unique cold-water challenge at 7pm on Saturday 10 October.

At exactly the same time, people will take to the water at two locations across Cornwall to shine a light on mental health and show that no one has to face difficult times alone.

Choose your location

Jubilee Pool, Penzance or Hayle Lido

Both events include:

  • Professional safety briefing before entering the water
  • Qualified lifeguards on duty
  • Friendly, supportive atmosphere
  • Souvenir pin badge
  • Goody bag including scented tealights kindly donated by St Eval

Places are limited, so early booking is recommended.

Take on a DIY Dip

If you’d rather dip at a time and place that suits you, we’d love you to get involved.

Whether you’re dipping on your own, with friends, family or colleagues, you’ll still be part of Cornwall’s World Mental Health Day challenge.

Every DIY participant will receive a souvenir pin badge as a thank you for taking part.

Make an even bigger difference

Every ticket sold helps support Cornwall Mind, but by asking friends, family and colleagues to sponsor your dip, you can help even more people access mental health support.

With 1 in 4 people experiencing a mental health problem each year, the demand for our services has never been greater.

Every pound raised stays here in Cornwall, helping local people access the support they need.

Why take part?

Cold water can leave many people feeling refreshed, energised and accomplished. Taking on a challenge together can also help create connection and raise awareness of the importance of looking after our mental health.

By taking part, you’re helping to remind people that support is available and that no one has to face a mental health problem alone.

Ange Collins, Director of Salty Swims CIC, said:

Let’s shine a light in the dark and show that even in the darkest moments, Cornwall shines brightest when we all stand together.

Thank you to our partners
