Cornwall Mind’s radio show A Space to Speak Your Mind, produced for Source Fm, picked up two awards at the recent Community Radio Awards in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The show picked up gold for ‘Specialist Content of the Year’ and bronze for ‘Community Radio Show of the Year’.
The monthly show and podcast is all about mental health and wellbeing. People with lived experience of mental health produce and oversee every aspect of the show and the judges particularly commended the partnership with local community organisations.
We also offer a wellbeing workshop. After never stepping into a radio studio before, within weeks group members produce their own radio programme aired on Source FM on the first Thursday of every month.
Richard from Cornwall Mind who leads the project said “It was a privilege to accept this award on behalf of all those that have been brave and open enough to talk about their mental health on the show. I hope that at least one person somewhere has found solace from those that have spoken about their lived experiences to begin their own recovery path to better mental health.”
Huge thanks to everyone who has been part of making this show such a success.
