Volunteering for Cornwall Mind

We couldn’t lead the fight for better mental health without our volunteers. Cornwall Mind volunteers play a huge part in everything we do.

Why volunteer for us?

We support over 1000 local people every year and that number keeps on rising.

Our team of paid staff work alongside and rely on the contributions of volunteers to deliver our services and reach as many people as possible.

We are very proud of the work that our volunteers do.

Volunteering can be a really rewarding and useful experience – and there’s probably more ways of doing it than you might think. From helping support our wellbeing groups, becoming a trustee or helping organise our fundraising events, there are many ways you can give your time.

We offer a variety of roles and in return for your time and effort, we offer a supportive working environment, valuable work experience, involvement in social activities, the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge, access to training, supervision and out of pocket expenses.

Are you?

  • Over 18 years old
  • Friendly and reliable
  • Passionate about better mental health
  • Able to gift a few hours of your time a week or a month depending on your role

If that sounds like you please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.

I was made redundant and hit an all time low. Volunteering gave me back my identity and gave me a sense of purpose. The connections I made, and the skills I learnt, boosted my confidence and I felt valued again. I now work in health care, and it’s all thanks to having the opportunity to volunteer for Cornwall Mind.

Trustee with Legal Experience

We are looking for a volunteer Trustee to join our dynamic Board.

Our Trustees play a vital role in making sure that Cornwall Mind achieves its core purpose. They oversee the overall management and administration of the charity. They also ensure that the charity has a clear strategy, and that our work and goals are in line with our vision. Just as importantly, they support the Chief Executive Officer to enable Cornwall Mind to grow and thrive.

What are we looking for?

We’re a strong, welcoming team eager to welcome a new Trustee who can bring expertise in general legal matters to our meetings. We are seeking an individual with energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our Board. Previous experience of being a Trustee is not essential.

Time commitment

We hold six Board meetings annually and this role is essential for the good governance of Cornwall Mind.
