Cornwall Mind Art Exhibition at Truro Arts Cafe
Art is for all. Join us during Mental Health Awareness Week (11 – 17 May) for Cornwall Mind’s art exhibition, showcasing inspiring work created by artists from our Wellbeing Groups. Each piece reflects creativity, expression, and the journey towards wellbeing.
Heather Taylor, who runs the Newquay Art Groups and Philip Lyons, a renowned contemporary artist who volunteers for the Falmouth Allotment Group, have collaborated to make this event possible, but a special thanks goes to Lucy Siagos from Truro Arts Cafe, who has very generously provided this amazing venue for us to hang the many art pieces created.
We are delighted to support Cornwall Mind in this inspiring art exhibition. As a creative business, we deeply value the role of artistic expression in supporting mental wellbeing, and we are proud to contribute to an initiative that brings together artists and public figures for such an important cause. It has long been recognised how engaging in creative activities can help manage trauma, reduce anxiety and depression, and reinforce feelings of self worth. By holding this art exhibition, we hope our artists will be able to see for themselves the value of their art and how much they have accomplished along their individual art journeys.
We look forward to sharing the joys we have found in creating and maybe even encourage others to have a go themselves.
After all, as Paul Klee, a famous artist, once said, ‘A drawing is simply a line going for a walk.’
We are delighted to share some of the artwork created by our Wellbeing Group members.
